Welcome to IM2.MDM (2002-2005)
MDM was an Individual Project
in the phase I of the
(IM)2 National Centre of
Competence in Research, Switzerland, from 2002 to 2005.
The phase II of (IM)2 has started in January 2006
(see ISSCO/TIM contributions).

The goal of MDM is to define a framework for
multimodal dialogue understanding by a computer program, with
contributions on both theoretical and applicative grounds.
Two main applications are targeted:
- human-to-human
multimodal dialogue tracking, summarization and topical indexing;
- human-to-machine information retrieval interface, in which the
multimodal dialogue-based search possibilities should enable
sophisticated natural language queries.
