This is the main text page of the IM2.MDM project at the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
The MDM project is an Individual Project within the (IM)2 National Centre of Competence in Research (Switzerland). (IM)2 stands for Interactive Multimodal Information Management. The (IM)2 project conducts research in on multimodal human computer interaction, with a view towards the application of results to enhance the user-friendliness of the information society.
The goal of the MDM project (IP) is to define a framework for multimodal dialogue understanding by a computer program, which is both theoretically grounded and efficiently implementable. Our IP then aims at integrating this computational dialogue model with lower level language processing tools, in order to provide a generic set of tools for dialogue management by a computer agent.
