Applications - the basics

Introduction

Independent of the type or complexity of an application or the operating system on which it runs, all applications have certain properties, and these properties are usually accessible in the same way in different applications. This section outlines what those common properties are, as well as highlighting some default (ie free) Windows applications that can be used for working with certain types of files.
