Personalizing your workspace


Your computer is your own personal workspace. And, just like any other personal space (your home, your room, your office etc), it should be set up so that you are comfortable working in it and are happy to spend time in it.

The main ways to personalize your computer are by:

  • changing its appearance to suit your tastes
  • setting it up to help you do the most frequent tasks that you do efficiently


  • the Control Panel - explanations of the most common options
  • creating shortcuts on the desktop
  • changing the background of your desktop
  • changing the screen saver
